Assetto Motorsport has released a stunning artist’s impression of its new Clio Cup UK race car.

The team was quick to produce the graphic after announcing it had placed orders for two latest fifth generation Clio race cars that will be used in the all-new Clio Cup UK championship in 2020.

Double Renault one-make Champion Jim Edwards Jnr is among those behind the Assetto squad.

“Our illustration gives prospective drivers and sponsors a taste of where we could go with things,” said Jim.

“The new Clio Cup car is striking and enables teams to work with brands in terms of livery and developing their messages.”

The new Clio Cup UK championship – being supported by Renault Sport Racing – has announced a seven event calendar for its inaugural season in 2020.

It will race five times alongside the British GT Championship and then at two more events overseas – Magny-Cours in France and Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain.

A full season’s registration is just £8,050.00 + vat. This covers all seven events and all entry fees etc (including the two events abroad).

The Barcelona races in November will see the UK’s teams and drivers join their French and Spanish championship counterparts on track in a spectacular end of season finale. As many as 60 cars could start…

Furthermore the Barcelona event means that Clio Cup UK will race on two active Formula 1 circuits in 2020 with the full-length Silverstone GP configuration also on the calendar.
